Install the app

You will find us on the Atlassian Marketplace.

Create a new Translated field from the newly available custom field types

  1. Go to Settings ⚙️ -> Issues -> Custom fields.

  2. Click on the 'Create custom field' button in the top right corner.

  3. In the modal, choose 'Advanced' and type 'Translated' in the search bar.

  1. Choose Translated field type and press Next

  2. Name the field and hit Create

  3. Associate the field to screens

Configure a field

On the Custom fields page:

  1. Navigate to the previously created field and click 3 dots icon ⋯ on the right, choose 'Contexts and default value'

  2. Click on the 'Edit custom field config' link

  3. Select the languages you wish to support and add options

  4. Submit the changes for review and save

Use the field in your project

  1. Navigate to your project and open an issue view The options of the Color field are displayed based on the user's locale.

Limitations

The app is developed using Atlassian's Forge platform, which offers many new integration possibilities. However, they are still in development. Forge custom fields may not be fully supported in products other than Jira Cloud, such as Jira Mobile, Jira Service Management, or Confluence. Additionally, support in tools within Jira Cloud (for example, Jira automation) may be lacking.

Atlassian is working to make Forge custom fields indistinguishable from regular custom fields, but reaching full parity takes time. Read more about platform limitations here and in the app's Limitations section.
